John Dodge of Middle Chinnock, Somerset, England, was the father of William and Richard who came to America in 1629 and 1638, respectively. They settled in what is now, Salem, Massachusetts. Tristram Dodge came to Block Island, Rhode Island in 1660/61. He came from England, via Newfoundland, via Massachusetts.

From the WATERLOO DAILY COURIER, 11 SEPTEMBER 1945;
OSAGE - A picnic was held Sunday at Wildwood Park, Charles City, honoring Staff Sgt. Corwin Dodge and brother, Dale Dodge, Seaman First Class, both home on furlough. Thirty-five relatives were present. Dodge came from Germany where he was wounded March 24. he has been in the service for 28 months. Seaman Dodge has been in the Pacific for approximately a year.
Corwin and Dale were sons of Ralph and Pauline Dodge.

David Child Dodge, b. August 1, 1920 and d. October 15, 2007. LCDR US NAVY, WORLD WAR II, KOREA, and VIETNAM David is buried at: Section 7, site 805, Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 West Kenyon Avenue, Denver, Colorado David was the son of John Bentley Dodge and Margaret NILES Dodge.

David Francis Dodge, b. 18 Aug 1910 and d. 1974 in Mexico
After Pearl Harbor he was commissioned in the U.S. Navy and emerged three years later as a Lieutenant Commander. On his release from active duty, he set out for Guatemala by car with his wife and 5-year old daughter Kendal. Thereafter he drew on his travels—he went on assignments around the world for Holiday and other magazines—as material for a series of humorous personal travel journals and as backgrounds for mystery thrillers in exotic locations. His most famous novel is To Catch a Thief, set in the French Riviera, which Alfred Hitchcock turned into a film in 1955 starring Grace Kelly and Cary Grant. Dodge died in Mexico in 1974. He and Elva are buried in San Miguel de Allende.
