Dodges Who Fought For Their Country
The Vietnam Conflict

John Dodge of Middle Chinnock, Somerset, England, was the father of William and Richard who came to America in 1629 and 1638, respectively. They settled in what is now, Salem, Massachusetts.
Tristram Dodge came to Block Island, Rhode Island in 1660/61. He came from England, via Newfoundland, via Taunton, Massachusetts. We believe that his ancestors were came from Northern England

Ashley O. Dodge, b. November 1927, Worthington, Massachusetts
Ashley served one tour in Korea and two in Vietnam.
Ashley was the son of the Sheridan Philip Dodge and Gladys H. Severance.

Dale Lee Dodge, b. 19 Apr 1954, Rockland, Illinois and d. 4 Nov 2004, Whidby Island NAS, Island Co., Washington
BM1 US NAVY; After graduating from Conant High School in 1972, Dale joined the United States Navy, where he learned to tie all manner of knots and was able to exhibit patriotism and love for his country. He became a boatswains mate, serving from June 27, 1972, to Sept. 30, 1992. Dale served on board the USS Roanoke, the USS Constellation, the USS Berkeley, and the USS White Plains. He also served as Special Service and Security at NAS Bermuda, Drill Instructor and Company Commander at San Diego and SIMA in San Diego, where he retired. .
Dale is buried at: BURIED AT: SECTION 9B SITE 47, TAHOMA NATIONAL CEMETERY, 18600 SE 240TH ST KENT, WA
Dale was the adopted son of Lyle Everett Dodge and Francis May KLOPIEN Dodge

David Child Dodge, b. August 1, 1920 and d. October 15, 2007. LCDR US NAVY, WORLD WAR II, KOREA, VIETNAM
David is buried at: Section 7, site 805, Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 West Kenyon Avenue, Denver, Colorado
David was the son of John Bentley Dodge and Margaret NILES Dodge.
Lineage - John Dodge of Middle Chinnock, England, through William

Edward L. Dodge Jr. born 4-28-30 served in Viet Nam with the U.S. Army Airborne, 173rd Airborne Brigade from May 1966 to May 1967.
Edward also served in served in Korea with the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. John A Bole DD755 from June 1950 to July 1952.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 25 years of Military service.
Edwards parents were Edward Lewis Dodge and GertrudeO'Connel

George was the son of Iverson Mason Dodge and Annis May Shores.

George Stanley Dodge was a heliocopter pilot in Vietnam.
He was the son of James Manual Dodge and Elizabeth Stone.

Hale A. Dodge, U.S. Army Air Forces pilot in China, Burma and the India theater during World War II, also the Korean and Vietnam wars. Retired after 27 years, as a colonel.
Hale was the son of Gilber Ray Dodge and Nora Helen Thon
Hale's brother, Ward Kent Dodge served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars and lost his life in the Vietnam War.

Hascal Oscar is the son of Harold Oscar Dodge and Mildred Dorothy Derosia. Hascal is is a brother of James Renfrew Dodge who is also listed on this page.

Henry Temple Dodge, brother of Jeffrey Bruns Dodge who gave his all in this war and whose information is on our Vietnam Sacrifice page. He is a direct descendant of Gov. Henry Dodge, First Territorial Governor of Wisconsin,(descendants of the Tristram Dodge line} Henry fought in Vietnam for 3 tours, 1964-1967

James Renfrew Dodge, b. 1947 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, enlisted in the U.S. Navy Seabees and served in Vietnam

He served in the Phillipines and Vietnam 1967 and 1968.

Rob Moody was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division from 1-68 to 3-69, receiving awards in RVN 1969. On enquiry from us, Rob said that the awards were as follows: " Bronze Star for Valor, Bronze Star for Meritorious Service and Air Medal. None of which in my mind were deserved. And believe me that is not false modesty. Especially compared to what some of the guys did and were not recognized."
Two of Rob's ancestors (uncles), Alonzo Dodge, and Everett Dodge, gave their lives for our country in the Civil War.
