John Dodge of Middle Chinnock, Somerset, England, was the father of William and Richard who came to America in 1629 and 1638, respectively. They settled in what is now, Salem, Massachusetts.
Tristram Dodge came to Block Island, Rhode Island in 1660/61. He came from England, via Newfoundland, via Taunton, Massachusetts. We believe that his ancestors were came from Northern England
Lineage - John Dodge of MIddle Chinnock, England, through Richard
Jacob Dodge Capt.; b. February 19, 1715 (or 1705), and died Dec. 13, 1792, buried in the Dodge Row Cemetery in Beverly, Massachusetts.

Private in Capt. Tho's Kimball's Minute men; Col. John Baker's reg't marched on Alarm April 19, 1775
Muster Roll. Vol. 12: 155
Service 2 days. They were allowed a d per mile for travel out and home.
Wenham Town Records Vol. 4 10, lists him as having served 2 months prior to Dec. 23, 1776.
Lineage - We have not yet been able to establish the lineage of Jeremiah.
Jeremiah Dodge, born May 23, 1742, East Haddam, Connecticut, and died Oct. 9, 1825, in Rome Ohio; Buried in Dodgeville Cemetery, New Lyme, Ohio. Private in the 3rd Company in the 7th Regiment under Col. Chas. Webb in Capt. Nathan Hale's Company, Connecticut. He married Elizabeth Chapman in 1770 and they had 7 children.

Jesse Dodge (1743-80) responded to the Lexington Alarm in Capt. Andrew Master's company, and, 1777, was in Col. Gerrish's regiment, Massachusetts troops. He was born in Beverly, MA; died in Greenfield, NH.
He was the son of Jonathan Dodge and Lois Dodge
Lineage - Through Tristram Dodge of Block Island, Long Island
Job Dodge, born 2 July 1731, served in the war from Westford, Connecticut; Private, Capt. Jonathan Minot's co., Col. James Prescott's regt., which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775; Job also served in the Revolution as a minute man marching on the alarm of April 19, 1775 and after that as a private from Littleton to Shirley in several enlistments from 1777 to 1780. His name is a also mentioned in Groton during the Revolution.
Job also served in the French Indian Wars
Job was the son of Nehemiah Dodge and Sarah Dennis.

John Dodge Jr. (1747 - 1825) was commissioned Lieutenant 1775 and commanded a company of Guards 1778 under Col. Jacob Gerrish.
He also served as Private in Captain thomas Kimball's company of Minute Men, Colonel John Baker's regiment, Massachusetts Troops. He was born in Beverly, Massachusetts; died in Wenham, Massachusetts.
He was the son of John Dodge and Hannah Fowler.

John Dodge of Brookfield. Corporal, Capt. Peter Harwood's co., Col. Ebenezer Learned's regt.; muster roll dated Aug. 1, 1775; enlisted May 1, 1775; service, 3 mos. 11 days; also, company return dated Oct. 7, 1775; also, order for bounty coat or its equivalent in money dated Roxbury, Dec. 20, 1775. John was the son of Thomas Dodge and Mary Adams. John's father, an uncle, Abraham, and two of his brothers, Thomas Jr. and Reuben also served.
Lineage - John Dodge Middle Chinnock, England through Richard
John Dodge Jr., born 28 May 1748, N. Rowley, Essex Co., Massachusetts. He was an Officer from Beverly Massachusetts and served until close of war. He married Susanna Martsers, and died 1806, in Marietta, Ohio. He was a member of the Ohio Company of Associates. Ref: Natl No 99410 and 56206, Vol 57, p 71 D. A. R.
John was the son of John Dodge and Bethiah Conant.
Lineage - John Dodge of MIddle Chinnock, England, through Richard
onah Dodge III, Private in Captain Nathaniel Fales' Co. This company marched on an expedition to Majabigwaduce by order of General Lowell. Jonah was one of the early setlers of Blue Hill Maine. He married Lydia Herrick and they had 7 children.
He was the son of Jonah Dodge Jr., and Mary Edwards.
Lineage - John Dodge Middle Chinnock, England through Richard
Jonathan Dodge, 16 Oct 1743 - 9 Feb 1822., was a Massachusetts Minute Man during the Revolutionary War.
He is buried in the cemetery at Hamilton, Mass.

Joseph Dodge of Shirley marched from Shirley on Lexington Alarm of April 19, 1775; Corporal. He was commissioned 1st Leut, 6th Company of Edmund Longley, 6th Regiment of Col. Jonathan Reed. Joseph was among the minuteman who marched to Cambridge Massachusetts on the alarm of April 19, 1775. He was commissioned a First Lieutennant in the Massachusetts Militia on 9 Apr 1778. He served in two different regiments, was engaged 12 Oct 1779, and discharged 23 Nov 1779
Joseph sold his property in Groton in 1781 to Joshua Longley and probably removed at once to Hancock, NH, where his name first appears on the town records 10 March 1783. It was then voted that a portion of the church meetings for the ensuing year should be held at his house. Joseph and his family were warned out, Aug 28 1783. He 'took a prominent part in town affairs, being town clerk and one of the selectmen for the years 1785-86. He and his wife, Molly (Ritter), helped organize the Congregational church. About the year 1800 they removed to Andover, VT. He died there about 1825 and his wife some years previous. His Great Grandson, Nathaniel Putnam Dodge, fought in the Civil War
He was the son of Joseph Dodge and Mary Gilson.

Joseph Dodge of Guilford, Vermont. Army.
Joseph was a brother of Nathaniel Brown Dodge who also served in this war.
Their parents were Elijah Dodge and Dorcas Brown.

Josiah Rogers Dodge (7121-1794) served as Private in the "Short Levies" 1781, under Colonel Durkee. He was born in Canterbury Connecticut; died in Hardon Co., Kentucky.
He was the son of John Dodge Jr. and Lydia Rogers.
