Warren Alexander Dodge, March 18th 1826
This obituary gives Warren's middle initial as 'p', but we have his middle name as "Alexander"
His Tombstone is at Findley Lake Cemetery, Chautauqua County, New York

This Obituary was found in a scrap book kept by Warren's granddaughter. It was pasted in an old Law book over the pages.

The Late W. p. Dodge - Warren p. Dodge was born in Ithaca, N.Y. March 18th 1826 where he lived until age twelve years of age, when he moved with his parents to Harborcreek, Erie Co.Pa. There he lived until age seventeen years of age, when he went to Findley Lake,N.Y. where he became acquainted with Jane Leach and was united in marriage with her 6 July 1846.They lived in Findley Lake and raised a family of 11 children. Seven girls and four boys. The four boys and three girls survive him. When the country was in danger and called for volunteers ( Civil War) He left home and family to the care of HIM who careth for all and enlisted in Co I of the 9th N.Y. Calvary served his time and re-enlisted and served his country two more years,Participating in some of the worst battles yet never leaving his post. After the war he returned to his home at Findley Lake Where he lived until about seven years ago, when he moved to North East, Pa. with his daughter Mrs Nancy Stone. Who kindly cared for him in his last illness.

The children who survive him are Mrs George Rowley of Grand Rapids,Mich. Mrs Nancy Stone and Mrs Frank Seeley both of North East,Pa. Warren Dodge, of Findley lake,Chas.Dodge of Keepville,Pa. Robert Dodge of Harbor Creek,Pa. and William Dodge of Cooper Tract,Pa. ( from Findley Lake Cemetery tombstone Warren Dodge Sr. was buried 21 Aug. 1895, at Findley Lake, Chautauqua Co. New York.

I also have data on Warren Dodge Jr. born 6 Apr. 1856 Findley Lake- Married, Emma Force by 1880 ( census record) they had three daughters- h/w Emma Force Dodge died from child birth at YamHill, Oreg. March 1892. Warren Jr. Dodge died in Westfield, Chautauqua Co,N.Y. 14th Nov. 1920 buried Westfield Cemetery. I have more on the children if anyone is interested. I am now trying to connect Warren Dodge 1826-1895 to Tompkins co. New York Dodge family. Warren Dodge received Civil war pension also. hope this helps some one- Sincerely, Virginia D.
