Enoch Dodge to John Fly Deed

Know all men by these presents that I Enoch Dodge of Edgecomb in the County of Lincoln & State of Maine, yeoman in consideration of two hundred & eighty Dollars paid by John Fly of sd Edgecomb in sd County, yeoman, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, do hereby give, grant sell & convey unto the said John Fly his heirs & assigns forever the following parcels of land situated m said Edgecomb & is bounded as follows, viz., beginning at a birch tree in the Southwest corner of Aaron Ring's land; thence Northly by the sd Ring's land & land of Arthur Dodge to land of Calvin Perkins; thence westerly by the sd Perkins' land to land of Auldin Fly; thence Southerly by the said Auldin's land & land in possession of Maria Fly to land of sd John Fly; thence E by the sd John's land to the first mentioned bounds. Also one other piece of land bounded as follows, beginning at the N E corner of Joseph Merry's land; thence N Eastly by land in possession of Maria Fly & Auldin Fly to land of Calvin Perkins; thence westly by the sd Perkins' land to land of Auldin Fly; thence Southerly by the sd Auldin's land to land of Joseph Merry; thence E by the sd Merry's land to the first mentioned bounds. Also one other piece of land bounded as follows, beginning at Samuel Dodge's N.W. corner, thence E by the sd Dodge's land to an old fence hear the brook; thence N.E as sd fence runs about twenty two rods to a stake & stone standing in sd fence; thence W.N.W. by land of sd John Fly to land of the sd Joseph Merry's; thence Southerly by the sd Merry's land to the first mentioned bounds. Also one half of the barn standing on land in possession of Maria Fly, & being the E. half.. To have and to hold the aforegranted premises to the said John Fly his heirs & assigns to their use & behoof forever. And I do covenant with the said John Fly his heirs & assigns that I am lawfully seized m fee of the aforementioned premises; that they are free of all incumbrances; that I have good right to sell & convey the same to the said John Fly, & that I will warrant & defend the said premises to the said John Fly his heirs & assigns forever against the lawful claims & demands of all persons... Provided nevertheless that if the said Enoch Dodge his heirs, executors or administrators pay to the said John Fly his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns the sum of two hundred & eighty Dollars in five payments as follows, eighty Dollars by the fifteenth day of May next, fifty Dollars in one year, fifty in two years, fifty in three years, & fifty in four years from this date, then this Deed, as also five notes bearing even date with these presents given by the said Enoch Dodge to the said John Fly to pay the same sum at the times aforesaid shall be void, otherwise shall remain in full force. In Witness Whereof I the said Enoch Dodge have hereunto set my hand & seal this thirtieth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty four. Enoch Dodge & a seal.
