Cold Harbor Military Cemetery

George Hubbard Dodge was born: Dec. 7, 1845 in West Stockbridge, Berkshire County, Massachusetts; He enlisted: in the Union Army 22 Dec 1863 in the 27th Regiment, Massachusetts Infantry, Co. B; Rank Induction: Private; Rank Discharge: Private; His death is recorded in Leverett, Massachusetts but he died on June 7, 1864 in Cold Harbor, Virgnia of wounds suffered during the war. He was 18 years six months 0 days of age when he died. He was not married. He was the son of David N. (Newell) Dodge and Sophia Stevens Pratt. In the 1860 census for Leverett in Franklin Co., Mass he is age 14 in the household of David N. 47 born about 1812 in Vt. and Sophia 41 born Mass. along with Philip M. 19 born 1840 Vt., Albert B. 10 born 1849 Mass., James H. 8 born 1851 Mass., David N. 6 born 1853 Mass., Ellen 2 born 1857 Mass., William 1.12 born Mass. and Molly 76 born 1783 Vt. Also according to Rootsweb David N. was the son of Royal and Molley Whitney
