Subject: re letters From: "Robert Dodge" Date: Mon, 08 Aug 2005 09:58:14 +0000 To: barbvdodge@dodgeoffice.net Sorry I did not answer your previous letter sending your condolencies for the train bombings, but things have been a bit hectic here as both Dorothy and I have had quite a few hospital appointments. I received your letter this morning with the article about the Dodge deaths in WW1. The thing that interested me was the 1 death in the Merchant Navy. My grandfather was Samuel Robert Dodge he was a master baker and he served on the Clan McNaughton which went down in the Irish Sea after being torpedoed leaving no survivors or any trace of the ship. I believe the date was May 1915. Hoping this will be of interest to you. Incidentally the plaque that you mention ,is made from phospher bronze and approximately 6 inch circular design with the persons name stamped round the edge of the plaque? If so I have one for my grandfather. If you are interested i can Email you a picture of said plaque _________________________________________________________________ Winks & nudges are here - download MSN Messenger 7.0 today! http://messenger.msn.co.uk
