Mr. Dodge was working with his father-in-law, Alphonso Jackson of Belfast, and was using a tractor on the Paul farm in Morrill where he had been employed for two years. The tractor was caught in a soft place and in attempting to release it, poles had been placed under the front wheels and this caused the machine to tip back and crush him to the ground. Dr. O.S. Vickery, Waldo County Medical Examiner, with Deputy Sheriff Ralph A. Light were called to investigate the accident and report it was without a doubt instant death.
