Eleanor was the granddaughter of Fred Dodge, a farmer who was mayor of Beverly, Massachusetts at one time .

Eleanor R. (Robertson) MacKenzie, 86, of Hamilton, wife of the late William F. MacKenzie, died January 17, 2005. Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late John and Hazel (Dodge) Robertson. Mrs. MacKenzie was a graduate of Beverly High School and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed for 25 years as the director of volunteer services at Salem Hospital. She was a member of Christ Church in Hamilton. Mrs. MacKenzie is survived by: a son and daughter-in-law, William F. Jr. and Maridia MacKenzie of Hamilton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jane E. and Mark Jenkins of Gloucester, Susan G. MacKenzie of Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Doris MacKenzie of Virginia; two sisters, Elsie Clapp of Peabody and Marion Haskell of Danvers; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was also the mother of the late David R. MacKenzie; mother-in-law of the late Joe Dube; and sister of the late Fredrick Robertson and Jean Cressey. Her funeral service will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours Thursday, January 20, 4-8 p.m. at the Lee, Moody & Russell Funeral Home, 9 Dane St., Beverly. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
