Intention wass approved by sd. Monthly Meeting. Now these are to certify all whom it may concern that for the accomplishing their sd. Intentions this 19th day of ye Eighth mo 1784; the sd. Robert DODG and Sarah WEEKS presented themselves in a publick meeting of sd. people and others at the Meeting house at Shapaqua the sd. Robert DODG taking the sd. Sarah WEEKS by the hand did in solemn manner declare that he took her to be his wife promising to be unto her a true and loving Husband untill death Should Seperate them; then and there in the same manner the sd. Sarah WEEKS did also declare that she took ye sd. Robert DODG to be her husband promising to be a true and loving wife untill Death, or to that affect. Moreover ye sd. Robert DODG and Sarah his wife did then and there set their names, She assuming ye name of her now husband as a further confirmation of their Marriage Robert DODGE Sarah DODGE and whose names are hereunto Subscribed being amongst others at the Solemnization of sd. DODGE daughter of Thomas DODGE and Hannah his wife of Chappaqua town County and State aforesaid having laid their intentions of marriage with each other before the monthly meeting of the religious Society of Friends held at Chappaqua in the state aforesaid they having consent of surviving parents and nothing appearing to Obstruct their proposals of marriage was allowed by the meeting these are to certify that for the accomplishment of their intentions this thirteenth day of the fourth month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four they the said Elkanah WORSHBORN and Phebe G. DODGE appeared at the dwelling house of Thomas DODGE in the town of New Castle in the presence of a committee appointed for that purpose by the monthly meeting of said Society and the said Elkanah WORSHBURN taking the said Phebe G. DODGE by the hand did on this solemn occasion declare that he took her to be his Wife promising through Divine assistance to be unto him a faithful and loving husband until separated by death or words to that effect and then the said Phebe G. DODGE did in like manner declare that she took the said Elkanah WORSHBURN to be her husband promising through Divine assistance to be unto him a faithful and loving wife until seperated by death or words to that import and they the said Elkanah WORSHBURN and Phebe G.
