Obit is as follows: Evening Pajaronian Watsonville, California 2 February 1918 MRS. DODGE PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING The many friends in this community of Mrs. Ira Dodge were greatly shocked at the intelligence of her death, which took place this forenoon at about 10:30 o'clock. Mrs. Dodge has had very poor health, for a long time past, a fact not generally known. She died from a sort of a nervous breakdown caused by jaundice and other complications. She was out on the street the other day, although quite ill at the time. Her death comes as an awful shock to her bereaved husband and his relatives, as well as to her father, mother and brothers, living at Santa Cruz, who did not know anything about her illness until they were notified of her death this morning. Deceased was married to Mr. Ira Dodge, bookkeeper for the White & DeHart Co., of this city last November. As Miss Lottie L. Ash, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Ash, of Santa Cruz, she lived nearly all her life at the county seat, where she was a general favorite for her many lovable qualities. She gained many friendships since she became a resident of this city, and many will grieve at her untimely end. Besides her husband, deceased is survived by her father and mother and two brothers, Fred Ash, who resides near Capitola, and George Ash, of Santa Cruz. The date of the funeral has not yet been set.
